There is a lot of uncertainty with respect to how climate change will impact weather patterns.  Some research suggests that south westerly storms will decrease with the systems moving north around the UK before passaging south through the North Sea.  This could lead to regular agricultural and ecological drought conditions, impacting the productivity of the land and the landscape.
